Freemax Mesh Pro Coils: The Ultimate Guide

In the vaping industry, it’s unusual for any vape mod or tank to maintain a position of dominance for long. The Freemax Mesh Pro tank is one of the rare exceptions. Although it’s been on the market since 2018, it still has thousands upon thousands of devoted users around the world who swear that no company has released a better vape tank to this day. If you’re an owner of the Freemax Mesh Pro or the newer Mesh Pro 2, you can be confident that you’ve made a great choice. Until Freemax or another vape manufacturer comes up with a new technology that revolutionizes vaping yet again, you probably won’t find a better tank than the Mesh Pro.

In this guide, you’re going to learn how to get the most out of your vape tank and the amazing Freemax Mesh Pro coils. You’re also going to learn a bit about the little challenges that go along with owning this tank. First, though, let’s learn a little more about what makes Freemax Mesh Pro coils so special.

What’s Special About the Freemax Mesh Pro Tank?

In a few short years, mesh coils have completely revolutionized the vaping industry. These days, mesh coils are included with just about every new tank and pod system by default. Most older tanks now have mesh coils available as well. Mesh coils are so popular that if a given tank doesn’t have mesh coils available, there’s a good chance that the manufacturer is no longer making coils for that tank at all.

The popularity of mesh coils had to start somewhere, though, and that “somewhere” is with Freemax. Freemax released the Fireluke Mesh tank in early 2018. It was the first vape tank designed specifically to use mesh coils, and it was a big hit. By the end of 2018, Freemax had followed up the success of the Fireluke Mesh with the Freemax Mesh Pro.

The Freemax Mesh Pro took everything that was great about the Fireluke Mesh and made it even better. It was the first tank to feature dual, triple, quadruple and quintuple mesh coil atomizers. In short, it generated the biggest and most flavorful clouds that anyone had ever experienced with a vape tank. Many people believe there’s still vape coil in the world that performs better than the Freemax Mesh Pro coil.

Freemax Mesh Pro vs. Mesh Pro 2: How Do They Compare?

Compared to the original Freemax Mesh Pro, the Mesh Pro 2 has some enhancements that improve usability and reliability. One of those enhancements is a new top cap that has built-in bearings to prevent accidental leaking. The bearings help to stiffen the cap’s sliding mechanism and prevent the tank from opening in your pocket.

The Mesh Pro 2 also features a completely redesigned coil that uses 904L stainless steel for the heating surface and a blend of tea fiber and cotton for the wick. The tea fiber helps to improve the wick’s heat resistance, and the stainless-steel coil allows the Mesh Pro 2 to work in either wattage or temperature control mode. The original Freemax Mesh Pro coils, on the other hand, work in wattage mode only. Both types of coils, however, work with both the original Freemax Mesh Pro tank and the Mesh Pro 2.

How to Replace the Freemax Mesh Pro Coil

If the Freemax Mesh Pro tank has any shortcoming, it’s that the coil may sometimes have trouble making firm contact with the plate in the base of the tank. If you don’t replace your coils carefully, you could encounter a situation in which your vaping device fails to detect the coil after you’ve already assembled and filled the tank. You want to do everything possible to prevent that from happening because fixing the issue will require you to disassemble the tank, which means that you’ll lose your e-liquid.

When you’re ready to replace the Freemax Mesh Pro coil, wait until the tank is empty and disassemble it fully. After disassembling the tank, remove the coil and set it aside for cleaning. Rinse the tank’s glass and metal hardware in clean water to remove any e-liquid residue and dry the components with a paper towel.

You’ll want to prime your Freemax Mesh Pro coils carefully before installing them. If you examine the coil from the top, you’ll see that the actual heating surfaces are quite small despite the coil’s massive girth. Aside from the mesh strips, all of the rest of the space inside the coil is taken up by Freemax’s cotton and tea fiber wick blend. That’s a lot of wicking material, and you’ll want to get it as wet as possible to avoid any dry spots that can lead to a burnt wick.

To prime the Freemax Mesh Pro coil, place a bit of e-liquid on each of the coil’s side wick openings and drip some additional e-liquid through the top of the coil to wet the mesh strips directly. Wait a moment for the e-liquid to soak in and examine the wick openings again. If the cotton looks dry, add a bit more e-liquid.

To prevent a “Check Atomizer” message when using the Freemax Mesh Pro tank, you’ll need to screw the coil in very tightly when installing it. Before installing the coil, make sure that the tank’s base is completely dry. If you do both of those things, the tank should work correctly when you install it. Although the coil should be installed very tightly, the remaining components can be tightened just until they stop turning.

The Best Way to Clean Freemax Mesh Pro Coils

If you’re in the habit of cleaning your vape coils and reusing them, you’ve probably noticed that manual coil cleaning is more difficult with Freemax Mesh Pro coils than it was with the vape coils of the past. That’s because the coils are extremely wide, but the mesh strips themselves are fairly small. The rest of the coil is taken up by the dense cotton and tea fiber wick. The Freemax Mesh Pro coil holds a great deal of e-liquid to ensure that you’ll get a thick and satisfying cloud of vapor every time you vape. The dense wick, however, makes the coil difficult to clean manually. If you try to clean your Freemax Mesh Pro coils just by soaking them in hot water, they’ll probably still be fairly dirty when you remove them from the water. That’s why the ROBO2020 automatic vape coil cleaner is a better solution. ROBO2020 uses heat, water and gentle vibrations to clean and dry your dirty Freemax Mesh Pro coils in as little as 30 minutes. Mesh coils are expensive, but ROBO2020 makes it possible to reuse them over and over, enjoying that “new coil flavor” every time. Order yours now!
